The Lorelei Signal
Cosmic Conservator Carna
Written by J.D. Harlock / Artwork by Marcia Borell

In the farthest reaches of the cosmos,
where only colonists dare,
a trailblazer on a space-scooter
zips through the vacuum with flair!
For our caretaker is on her beat
until that wrist-gadget sounds,
urgently calling her in
once the ne’er-do-wels are around.
“‘Greenie’ can’t get here in time,”
those shameless saboteurs scoff!
But wait until the sirens blare,
and the Cosmic Conservator blasts off!
Then, just when all seems lost,
she’ll swerve in to save the day,
and, with her stunner in hand,
keeps the plunderers at bay!
So, always remember this, my boy,
when you look up into the sky,
one scary night,
and watch a shooting star hurtle by
at the speed of light.
You may wonder what that is, boy.
But wonder no more!
That is Cosmic Carna giving them what for!
